The
concept for Miss Indian
World originated in 1983
in Albuquerque, New
Mexico. Indigenous,
young women from all
over North America
compete for this most
prestigious crown. Miss
Indian World is selected
by acquiring points in a
variety of categories
and must be
knowledgeable about the
Tribe(s) and Traditions
she will be
representing. At the end
of the five day
competition, the
contestant with the
highest accumulated
points will be crowned
Miss Indian World to
reign for one year.

Miss
Indian World Cruises the Bahamas: June 17, 2011 was the day Miss Indian
world and her companions departed Port Canaveral Florida, on board The Royal
Caribbean Cruise Ship; Monarch Of The Sea. The three day cruise made port of
call in Nassau, the largest City in the Bahamas, followed the next day for a
full day of sun and beach activities, on the private island owned by the
Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. Accompanying Marjorie, was Kira,
and MIW Committee members Azella Humetewa and Melonie Mathews. At the 2011
Miss Indian World Pageant, Kira was the contestant who sold the most raffle
tickets. Her prize for her efforts she won the opportunity accompany Miss

The
2012 Miss Indian World Pageant once again will be held at the
Hard Rock Hotel and Casino
on the Isleta Pueblo (just minutes south of Albuquerque New
Mexico).
The MIW Program is proud to announce the featured entertainment
"NRG (New Reggae
Generation) RISING" from
Aotearoa (New Zealand) at the
Miss Indian World Traditional Talent Presentations,
Thursday, April 26, 2012. Along with the cultural talents and traditional demonstrations performed by the Miss Indian World Contestants, the night will be made complete with the Reggae rhythms and sweet sounds of NRG RISING.

NRG RISING
features the beautiful harmonies of a mother and
daughters trio who front the band and this will be their first time in the
USA! The members of NRG RISING
are of Maori tribal descent. It is through
their musical journey that they connect with and support the empowerment
of indigenous people worldwide! The Miss Indian World Program invites
EVERYONE to come and support the 2012 Contestants and enjoy the featured
guest performance. Lets sell out the house again! It is an enchanted evening for all who attend.
